House of Rock is a multi-disciplinary company offering promotion, publicity, design and event coordination services to artists and arts organizations in Atlantic Canada and beyond. Based in Sydney, on Cape Breton Island, the House of Rock has been making a name for itself since the East Coast Music Awards were held in Sydney in 2000. At that time it was a house full of musicians, writers, photographers and graphic designers, including members of independent bands Rock Ranger, Slowcoaster and The Squatters. The noisy yellow house on George Street in Sydney's historic north end became a stopping place where musicians traveling through Cape Breton could find a place to stay, get help with booking and promoting shows in the area and even pick up backing musicians. Folks like Oh Susannah, Mark Bragg, The Discounts, Colleen Power, Eyes for Telescopes....

When the call came that the old house was up for sale and we were getting the boot the gang decided to keep the rock and roll barn raising spirit alive and incorporated itself as House of Rock Ltd. in 2003. Since then we've gone on to produce events, showcases and tours to promote and expose the awesome music of groups like Slowcoaster, Rock Ranger, The Tom Fun Orchestra, Carmen Townsend, the Burdocks, Windom Earle, Joel Plaskett, Mars Hill...

As artists and team members moved on married out grew up and disappeared, the remaining inhabitants reevaluated their strengths and passions and decided to put their energies to creating a lean mean publicity machine whose aim is to do a world class job of promoting similarly talented music and artists
